School Tours

We have an open day or two throughout the year. However: 'Every day is open day' at Harkaway Primary School.

Even if you do not live in our zone - give us a call. You can book in a tour then come and see if our little community is the best fit for your child.

We try and run tours early in the school day - after the kinder run. Either way, talk with our friendly team and we'll find a time that works for you. Toddles are most welcome to join us on the tour.

School Zone

Our school zone

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones for 2024 onwards.

Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

The Department provides guidance through the School Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.

You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the Department’s website under School zones.

UPDATE: Are you out of our Zone? Call us to discuss your options.

Our commitment to child safety

The Harkaway Primary School community is committed to safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. This will be the primary focus of our care and decision-making. Harkaway Primary School does not tolerate child abuse. We are committed to providing a child safe environment where children and young people are safe and feel safe, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives. Particular attention will be paid to the cultural safety of Aboriginal children and children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, as well as the safety of children with a disability. Every person involved in our school community has a responsibility to understand the important and specific role he/she/they play individually and collectively to ensure that the wellbeing and safety of all children and young people is at the forefront of all we do and every decision we make.

This commitment is approved by our school principal and school council.
